Columbine High School…

“I have this theory that if one person goes out of their way to show compassion, it will start a chain reaction of the same. You never know how far a little kindness will go.” – Rachel Joy Scott

Today is the 22nd anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre. Rachel was the first child killed that day. Yet, even with all the darkness of that day, it couldn’t stop light from emerging. Rachel’s Challenge was born, based upon the writings and influence of Rachel Scott. She continues to start chain reactions of kindness and compassion all across the world. Over 30 million people have experienced Rachel’s story. But the work continues…
Rest In Peace, Rachel. Your life mattered…

Empathy…

Empathy is shown to others because you have a shared experience. Only a parent who lost a child can fully understand the grief and sorrow of another parent who loses a child. Or there is the joyous side of this equation. An Olympic athlete who won the gold twenty years ago can celebrate today’s winners. They know the work and discipline it took to get there.
