All across society, we see people who are trying to find themselves through external means. I’ve done it myself, which I discussed in my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him.” Here’s some truth: we find our value when we realize God created us exactly how He wanted us to be. Accept that truth and you will accept yourself…

Strength…
The past year has allowed people to see how strong they are. The chaos in our lives caused by the pandemic has showed us our inner strength. We see the runway and are coming in for a landing with the coronavirus. And we are forever changed for the better…
Unified…
How do you get two people who see things differently to come together? You don’t, because it’s already happening. No one is in perfect alignment with anyone else. God made us different from each other in every way. I’m guessing He likes variety, but I doubt He likes seeing his children at each other’s throats. Recognize our differences, even within our own families. Embrace the differences and unify. We are better together…
Happy?
At wedding receptions, people make toasts to the newlyweds. Most of those toasts include wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness. That’s not realistic. I’m not being a downer here, but if you’re pursuing a life that’s happy all the time, you will not find it. Happiness is moment by moment. We live in a broken world, and that brokenness includes some dark times. Seek fulfillment over happiness. Darkness will come, but light is on the way…

Be Kind…

Beliefs…
Do you consider yourself to be open minded? Whenever we are discussing a topic, pretty much any topic, our belief system is attached to our side of the discussion. Sometimes what we may believe is incorrect. And if that is the case, be humble and learn…
Failure…
Failure is a matter of perspective. Elon Musk, in his Space-X venture, “blows a lot of stuff up,” to learn what doesn’t work. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times when looking for a long-burning filament. Failure is, quite simply, learning…
Acceptance…
In my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him” I wrote about the fractured relationship I had with both my parents. They were cruel and abusive, and I never felt like I was good enough. This carried into adulthood. After many years of hard, self-work I was able to rid myself of the need for the approval of others. If you are dealing with this, I encourage you to work on yourself. It isn’t easy, but it will free you from the demons inside your head. You will be free…
