Who Knew?

Every experience we have in life prepares us for something else. This includes both the good and the bad experiences. I grew up in an abusive home. I hated my parents, my life, and I hated God for putting me in that family. What I couldn’t know at the time was, this experience prepared me to be able to connect with kids. Today, I have the privilege of speaking to kids in detention centers and foster homes. The kids don’t see me as just another old person telling them what to do. When I describe what my life was like as a child, they see me as one of them. We connect. This brings me more inner joy than anything I do. Oh, who knew? God knew what He was planning for my life. Vic Feazell was the District Attorney in McClennan County when he received a call from the renowned Texas Rangers. The Rangers had a man in custody who had confessed to three murders in Vic’s jurisdiction, and they wondered if Vic wanted to have his picture taken with the Rangers when they closed out the cases?
