Be Courageous

Life is hard. Few, if any, will argue that point. Life is full of unknowns and uncertainty. Every day is unique because no two days are the same.

In my travels I have encountered many people who have given up. They decided to accept whatever life threw their way. This isn’t a growth strategy. It’s a cop out. This is especially disheartening when you consider that some of these people have children who rely on them. Children deserve our best efforts.

Life is challenging when you try. It’s more difficult when you give up. Courage is required when you are going for greatness. A quote attributed to John Wayne is, “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.” Whether Wayne actually said it or not, it’s true.

In this life we will experience hurdles, difficulties and setbacks. We will also experience victories. You will never taste victory until you find your inner strength, your courage to try in the face of uncertainty.

Win or lose, keep trying. You have it in you…

Courage

Life is not a popularity contest. Going with the flow or not rocking the boat just doesn’t cut it sometimes. We must take a stand for what is true and right.

Most of us enjoy the peaceful times in our lives. We are always experiencing some conflict or challenge, yet we can feel calm among the chaos. Being courageous and going against the crowd can bring some tension into the mix. But if we are standing up for something, and our motives are pure and noble, we will win in the end. Good crushes evil. Light reigns over darkness.

If you are concerned about being part of the crowd, make sure it’s the right crowd. And when the moment arrives when you feel the need to speak up, that is a leadership moment in your life.

Embrace it, even if you are standing alone. It might take some courage, but you have it in you. Find it…

The Flow

You were created for greatness. By greatness I don’t mean fame and fortune. I’m talking about more than that. You are unique, with abilities only you have. Your voice speaks in a way like no others.

“Going with the flow” will only get you so far. To reach your full potential, you must be willing to stand out, to be different from the crowd. Everything you do must be aligned with your true identity, not how the world sees you. You must move with purpose in mind.

Start now. If you don’t know which way to go, ask God for guidance. Then listen for His answer. Stay in touch with God. Ask for the courage to take the initiative and make a difference.

You can do it. Now get going!
