Remember Me?
In 2018, my first book was published. The book is called, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him.” The theme of the book is about how I came to forgive both of my parents for the abuse and neglect I felt all through my childhood. I hid my upbringing from my friends in school. I masked it well because recently I read a short piece one of my childhood friends wrote about me and why he was buying the book. He wrote, “what I remember about John was his passion for life and his genuine concern for others.”
If you are holding onto pain from your past, I encourage you to do the work on yourself to heal. I did, and I promise it isn’t easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

The Elite Class…
It’s a given that some people believe they are better than others. They’re not. People use comparison to gauge where they are socially and economically. This just breeds frustration. Our Creator loves us all the same. Rich or poor. Black or white. Gay or straight. Something to consider…
Posers…
Some people are so guarded they work overtime to make it seem like their lives are perfect. Opening up to someone else is unthinkable. They are held hostage by fear. This is why we should show kindness to others. We don’t know what’s going on beneath the surface…
Thoughts…
Life is hard. Life is a struggle. Life holds precious moments and beautiful memories. Life is wonderful and painful, but it’s always moving forward. Focus on each moment, and do not live in the past or too far in the future. You might miss something…
Suicide Awareness…
September is officially the month designated as Suicide Awareness Month. In 2016, suicide became the #2 killer of our kids. It still rages on. Mental health has been shredded through the pandemic. People feel isolated and alone. Hope has been lost. Make sure you are staying connected with your family and friends. If you get a vibe from someone that they might be contemplating suicide, encourage them to seek help. Suicide awareness is a daily practice…
