Turn on your television and Madison Avenue tells us that “blondes have more fun,” and you can drink beer and not get fat. None of it is true. It’s what you are led to believe. What messages, either internally generated or from the outside world are you believing about yourself? The world will beat you down, but you’re already doing a pretty good job of it yourself. Do not believe the lies. Believe in yourself…

My Interview With Vic Feazell, Part 2
Vic Feazell was the District Attorney in McLennan County when he discovered some inconsistencies which aroused his suspicions from the confessions of a drifter named Henry Lee Lucas. Lucas had testified to over 300 unsolved murders, including three in McLennan County. When Vic challenged the Task Force set up by the Texas Rangers, this set off a maelstrom of events which could have landed Vic in prison for 80 years.
Don’t believe in the “Deep State?” You might change your opinion after watching the second installment of our interview. Vic and I cover this, plus forgiveness, how he got into the Guiness Book of World Records and coming full circle in this concluding episode of our time together on The Determined People Podcast.
Christmas Season
We are in the last week before Christmas. The true message of Christmas is hope whether you believe in God or not. Hope gets lost in the madness of shopping, wrapping gifts and attending parties. But hope is what keeps us going, even when it isn’t Christmas time. Stay hopeful. Better days are coming. Just believe…
From The Inside…
If you believe everything you see on social media, you might think that everyone’s life is perfect. It’s not. We show people the outside, not the pain, the hurts, struggles and worries of life. Remember this when interacting with others. We don’t know what’s going on inside…
Victimhood…
No one is a victim in the sense that someone else is keeping them from succeeding. Yes, bad things happen to us, but the bad stuff only prevents us from being successful and impactful if we allow it. The battle is in our minds. If you have a good mind and can think…you can do. It’s easier to blame than to do…
Who Knew?
Every experience we have in life prepares us for something else. This includes both the good and the bad experiences. I grew up in an abusive home. I hated my parents, my life, and I hated God for putting me in that family. What I couldn’t know at the time was, this experience prepared me to be able to connect with kids. Today, I have the privilege of speaking to kids in detention centers and foster homes. The kids don’t see me as just another old person telling them what to do. When I describe what my life was like as a child, they see me as one of them. We connect. This brings me more inner joy than anything I do. Oh, who knew? God knew what He was planning for my life. And God isn’t like us. He doesn’t hold a grudge toward me for laying into Him when I was a hurting, angry kid…
Popularity
Life isn’t a popularity contest. When you are doing what’s right, there will be times that you feel alone. Stay strong during those periods, knowing they are temporary. Goodness wins in the end…
My Interview With Vic Feazell, Part 1
Vic Feazell was the District Attorney in McClennan County when he received a call from the renowned Texas Rangers. The Rangers had a man in custody who had confessed to three murders in Vic’s jurisdiction, and they wondered if Vic wanted to have his picture taken with the Rangers when they closed out the cases? When you are a politician whose political stock was on the rise, of course you say yes to The Rangers. Only problem was, the man who confessed to the Rangers had not committed the murders. When Vic got suspicious, all hell broke loose.
