Dreams Have Power

Our dreams for our lives have power. But how do we harness that power and turn our dreams into reality?

Accept that your mind is exceptionally powerful. The key to manifesting our dreams comes from our minds. We must see ourselves with a successful outcome, and we have to feel it, too. Whatever it is, believe you have already achieved it, hold on tightly to your vision, and work like hell to bring it to life.

You can have everything you want in life, if you believe…

Rest

Do you ever feel worn out? I believe most people have felt this way, whether physically or mentally. As a writer, sometimes I hit critical mass and my mind stops the flow of creative thoughts. I’m able to recognize it and walk away for a period of time.

Sometimes you just need to take a break and rest. American culture has some guilt associated with rest, but I encourage you to think counter culturally. Give yourself some peaceful rest, then start again. You will be better for doing so…

Garbage

We remove garbage from our homes regularly, right? If we don’t, things turn ugly. And smelly!

This goes for what we allow to stay in our minds and hearts, too. Bitterness, hate and anger will destroy us from within. These character traits will have a major impact on the way we communicate with others as well.

If you are holding on to anything that’s preventing you from being your best, pray to God to remove them from you. He will, I promise. The self work will not be easy, but anything worthwhile rarely comes to us easily…

Wounds

In my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him” I wrote a chapter titled “Wounds.” In the chapter, I shared some details of my past trauma. I left quite a bit out, but the reader understood my life was hell in my childhood home.

Our minds are incredible. The trauma of the past surfaces, but the brain knows when to allow it to resurface. Pain returns, but only when we are ready to face it and heal from it.

If you have a painful past, pay attention when memories appear. It means you are ready…

The Way

We all have our rituals. For example, I drink coffee every morning. It’s more a habit than a rite, but I do it daily.

We can become set in our ways. Neural pathways are strong. Let’s be aware that the way we have done things in the past might be ready for change. New, innovative methods should be embraced, not avoided.

Keep your mind open. Change is inevitable…

Approval

When I was growing up, a frequent saying from the adults was, “what would they say?” Who is they???

The only approval we should strive for is the approval of God alone. When we live our lives in obedience to God, and we are trying to do what is good, right and noble, I’m guessing we are okay with God. Even when we slip we are okay with God. He never changes.

Live your life with the purpose the Creator put in you. Do your best. If you slide backwards, get yourself back on track. The infamous “they” have no authority over your life…

Fitness

If one of your goals is to get fit this year, here’s a few helpful tips.

First, if you have health issues, get clearance from your doctor. After that, remember to lift weights to build strength. Do some cardio exercises to strengthen your heart, but don’t make cardio your dominant exercise. Get a good trainer. Eat good food. Do not start eating like a rabbit (meaning salads only). And finally, stay with it.

Over time, you will see results. Just keep going…
