September 11…
Twenty years ago, our world changed. In some ways we changed for the better, which is what I will focus on today.
Remember how nice people were to each other after 9/11? We had more patience, grace, and patriotism. We came together. I often wonder where that went. Are we so divided one generation later that we will never return to cohesion? I still believe in the goodness of mankind. It begins with me…
What Lies Beneath…
Everyone is struggling with something. Let’s treat others with kindness…
Horrific Life Experiences…
I have a gift. People willingly share their personal stories with me without prompting from me. I’m honored to listen. Every person’s story involves hardship, loss, pain. Some are stories of rape, abuse and control. People do horrible, unthinkable things to other people. Please be kind to everyone you meet. You don’t know what lies beneath…
Change. Really?

If a child reached out to you, please take the time to engage with them. Kids today need hope, they need validation, and they need us…
Greed…
In the movie, “Wall Street,” the main character told us that “greed is good.” By definition, greed means a selfish desire for wealth and power. There is nothing wrong with wealth and power until you throw selfishness into the mix. Keep your motives true and noble, and should you start feeling selfish, give away what you have accumulated.
Blind Spots…
Everyone has blind spots. The good people in our lives point them out, using gentleness and self-control…
Honesty…
Most people are honorable and tell the truth. But are we always honest with ourselves? Everyone has blind spots. This is why it’s important to have good friends who will gently point them out to us. When you are in that position, remember to deliver the message with gentleness and self-control…
Tear Down That Wall!
When we engage in conversations with others, why are we tempted to keep our guards up? Everyone we meet is broken in some way. When we let go of our guardedness, we have deeper, more meaningful lives. Do not concern yourself with others judging you. Most people respond with openness, too.
