Speak up for those who feel like they don’t have a voice. Stand your ground for what’s right, even if you have to stand alone. There’s no honor in “going with the flow” if that path leads to sorrow. There are many people who are in pain, desperately trying to find hope. Be their light in the darkness…

Work
Unless you were born a trust fund child, you have to work. Our work should be more than just a job; more like a calling. A calling gives purpose to our jobs, fulfills our heart’s desires and sustains us even on our worst days. If your work isn’t fulfilling you, you might not be aligned with the calling our Creator placed on your life. Something to consider…
Conflict
Conflict is unavoidable, but it doesn’t have to destroy relationships. Our world would be pretty boring if we all looked and thought the same. God loves variety! The truth is that we can learn from each other. An opinion that’s different from our own isn’t a threat. Consider it to be an opportunity to see things from a different viewpoint. We are better together…
Divided
In the United States, we are more divided now than since the Civil War. There’s nothing civil about war. We are weakened and compromised when we stand apart. The media and the politicians are feeding this division, but we do not have to allow it. In truth, we are more alike than we are different. Stand up for what’s right. Let the dividers wallow in their own mess…
Fault Lines
Laying blame on other people or circumstances for your failures is commonplace. It reeks of victimhood. We are responsible for our outcomes. Of course, things happen along the way that we cannot anticipate, but we adapt. Accept responsibility and keep going…
New Year. New Goals.
As 2022 approaches, we like to set “New Year’s Resolutions.” Instead of making multiple resolutions, make one. Only one. Commit to seeing it through. All of us can do one thing differently. After three months, set another resolution because by then you will have mastered the first one. Continue this throughout the year. Your life will change as your confidence soars.
Peace…
Today, Christmas Day is the most peaceful day of the year. Families and friends are together, enjoying the festivities. Yet, there are still people who aren’t sure where their next meal is coming from. Estranged relationships won’t be repaired because pride stands in the way. Take a brief moment to count your blessings, and remember to help those who are less fortunate. Peace to all…
What Do You Mean?
All of us want our lives to matter, to mean something. We are imbued by our Creator to have a greater purpose. We spend our lives searching for the true meaning for our time here on earth. To find ourselves, we must cut out the noise that gets in the way of keeping our minds clear and focused. It takes practice and patience to accomplish this, but it’s possible…
Bring Light
If you look around, and you don’t have to look very far, I believe you will agree there is much darkness around us. We live in a broken world. People fight with each other over pointless things, which further divides us.
I believe we should be a light to others, bringing goodness and kindness with us. We won’t help everyone, but we will help some. Bring light and life into the lives of others…
My Interview With Vic Feazell, Part 2
Vic Feazell was the District Attorney in McLennan County when he discovered some inconsistencies which aroused his suspicions from the confessions of a drifter named Henry Lee Lucas. Lucas had testified to over 300 unsolved murders, including three in McLennan County. When Vic challenged the Task Force set up by the Texas Rangers, this set off a maelstrom of events which could have landed Vic in prison for 80 years.
Don’t believe in the “Deep State?” You might change your opinion after watching the second installment of our interview. Vic and I cover this, plus forgiveness, how he got into the Guiness Book of World Records and coming full circle in this concluding episode of our time together on The Determined People Podcast.
