We are in constant motion. Life is not fluid, always going the same direction. Sometimes we have to pivot. It’s okay. Be flexible and adaptable.
Remember, the only constant in life is change…

In my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him” I wrote a chapter titled “Wounds.” In the chapter, I shared some details of my past trauma. I left quite a bit out, but the reader understood my life was hell in my childhood home.
Our minds are incredible. The trauma of the past surfaces, but the brain knows when to allow it to resurface. Pain returns, but only when we are ready to face it and heal from it.
If you have a painful past, pay attention when memories appear. It means you are ready…
Last night, a dear friend of mine from high school days passed away suddenly. Although I hadn’t seen her in 25 years, I still treasure our memories and hold her dear in my heart.
The point is, live your life like there is no tomorrow, because there might not be…
Timing is everything. When you need to have a difficult conversation with someone, choosing the right time makes all the difference.
God’s timing is perfect. That said, I don’t always like His timing in the moment, but it turns out the best when I accept it. He really does know best.
If you are in a challenging period of your life, take a minute to thank God for the lessons you are learning. He never punishes us, only disciplines. Discipline means teaching, even when we don’t like it…
Do you ever observe unhealthy patterns in other people and wonder why they won’t change? Why do people stay in abusive relationships, drink to excess or lie?
Here’s some truth which I will express as gently as I can: they have to learn healthy habits for themselves. When people find their voice, their inner strength, they change. They own the change because they did it for themselves.
Until that moment comes, pray for them. Pray hard, and believe God will change them because He can. There is unlimited power in Jesus. Believe it…
Reach out in kindness to those who are different and difficult. They need human connection, too. Try to see life through their eyes.
Stand firm in your convictions that are true, right and noble. Let go of prejudgments. You will grow when you build a bridge…
Years ago I decided to eliminate all of the one-sided relationships in my life. You know what I’m talking about, the people you find yourself reaching out to but they never reciprocate. I faced a long period of loneliness after doing this. It was awful.
Around the same time, I faced a stressful financial hardship. Compounded with my loneliness, my world was dark. But I never gave up hope. I realized that since I had put myself in this situation, I could work my way through it. I put my head down and went to work.
If you are in a similar situation in your life, I encourage you to hold on. Better days are coming. We don’t have the luxury of knowing when they will appear, we just know they will. Stay hopeful…
Are you aware there is a spiritual battle going on around us in a dimension we can’t see? Just because we can’t see it doesn’t make it any less real.
One third of the Angels in this realm are demons. The rest are God’s messengers, fighting on our behalf. Every trouble we have in this world is a spiritual battle. This is one of the reasons why prayer is so important. It demonstrates that we believe in God, that He can and will help us. Further, his word tells us he will.
Let’s step away from trying to control everything. Let’s allow God to do his thing. We will provide backup through prayer.
When you change the lens you see the world through and view everything in the spiritual realm, your mindset changes…
There are many forms of pressure, from pressure cookers to peer pressure. There are people in our world who will use pressure and intimidation to get their way. Steer clear of those people.
You can get everything you want in life by doing good, not through threats and maneuvering. Leading with a kind and compassionate heart will move mountains, leaving a trail of good. You will be creating a legacy.
There are times when applying pressure is a good thing. Lean into those times and divert your attention away from the pressure you know goes against your values…
We honor our veterans on November 11th every year. We should honor them daily.
It’s easy to take for granted what our armed services do. We are safe from a war in our country because they protect us. Service personnel go into some dark places and do some unspeakable work. They take out terrorists and protect foreigners, too. Our armed forces are the best in the world. Period.
I encourage you to take a moment and say a prayer, thanking God for the brave men and women who serve and have served. They are honorable…
