What Lies Beneath…
Everyone is struggling with something. Let’s treat others with kindness…
See Through…
We have a tendency to see the outside of people and project onto them how we think they are. We must look deeper, see into the heart of the person. Look beyond what you see. Remember this is a person with goals, dreams, desires, painful memories, maybe even trauma in their makeup. See through them. Get to know them…
The Power Within…
In my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him,” I wrote about the power of forgiveness. True forgiveness frees you from anger, bitterness and resentment. It takes time and it takes courage to forgive. It takes those same qualities to face your fears. You have the power within yourself to accomplish anything you want to. All it takes is one brave step…
They Got It Right…
Have you ever noticed the overarching theme the writers, musicians and poets share? They create their magic from the feeling of love. There’s pain and heartache, and there are happy endings and elation. They got it way before the rest of us. They got it right…

Uncommon Courage…
We love stories of bravery and courage. Remember when George McFly punched out Biff? He found uncommon courage in himself to defend the love of his life, overcoming odds in the process. We love these stories because it’s our story. We see a bit of ourselves in the uncommon hero…
Change. Really?
Fifty years ago, the band Ten Years After released a song titled “I’d Love to Change The World.” In the lyrics, they talk of noble ideas such as feed the poor, stop war, and eliminate pollution. Yet, in the chorus the lyricist wrote, “I’d love to change the world, but I don’t know what to do.”
These world challenges are huge, almost overwhelming. But I believe we can do something about them. Change begins when we are willing to do something. Change begins with me…
Self-Sufficiency…
It’s a challenge to remain humble in a culture that screams, “look at me.” When we consider and understand that everything good comes to us from God, we realize we aren’t self-sufficient. It’s not us. It’s Him…
