We are in constant motion. Life is not fluid, always going the same direction. Sometimes we have to pivot. It’s okay. Be flexible and adaptable.

In my book, “Killing My Father Then Finding Him” I wrote a chapter titled “Wounds.” In the chapter, I shared some details of my past trauma. I left quite a bit out, but the reader understood my life was hell in my childhood home.
Our minds are incredible. The trauma of the past surfaces, but the brain knows when to allow it to resurface. Pain returns, but only when we are ready to face it and heal from it.
If you have a painful past, pay attention when memories appear. It means you are ready…
Last night, a dear friend of mine from high school days passed away suddenly. Although I hadn’t seen her in 25 years, I still treasure our memories and hold her dear in my heart.
The point is, live your life like there is no tomorrow, because there might not be…

We all have our rituals. For example, I drink coffee every morning. It’s more a habit than a rite, but I do it daily.
We can become set in our ways. Neural pathways are strong. Let’s be aware that the way we have done things in the past might be ready for change. New, innovative methods should be embraced, not avoided.
Keep your mind open. Change is inevitable…
This morning I woke up in paradise. I’m in Cancun to give a speech on what I call three pillars of life. These are three things we need in our lives. They are forgiveness, acceptance and gratitude.
If you are a person who prays, please pray for me that my message resonates with my audience, that someone finds forgiveness in their heart for a past grievance. My speech is tomorrow’s keynote address…

Take a good look at yourself. Make a list of your talents and strengths. Thank the Creator for giving them to you.
When you focus on what you have instead of what others have, your thoughts align with your purpose. Coveting a talent someone else has takes away from your joy in the moment. God hardwired you exactly the way He wanted you. Go with it!
All of us are unique. It’s time to put your uniqueness on display…
When I was growing up, a frequent saying from the adults was, “what would they say?” Who is they???
The only approval we should strive for is the approval of God alone. When we live our lives in obedience to God, and we are trying to do what is good, right and noble, I’m guessing we are okay with God. Even when we slip we are okay with God. He never changes.
Live your life with the purpose the Creator put in you. Do your best. If you slide backwards, get yourself back on track. The infamous “they” have no authority over your life…
If one of your goals is to get fit this year, here’s a few helpful tips.
First, if you have health issues, get clearance from your doctor. After that, remember to lift weights to build strength. Do some cardio exercises to strengthen your heart, but don’t make cardio your dominant exercise. Get a good trainer. Eat good food. Do not start eating like a rabbit (meaning salads only). And finally, stay with it.
Over time, you will see results. Just keep going…
We have reached the point of the year when people make resolutions for the coming year. Are you making some?
Here is a way to ensure you stick with your resolution: write only one. One change you are going to make, and commit to that change for one month. Keep a journal. Write about it. Talk to God about it. But commit yourself to accomplishing it.
You can do anything you set your mind to…
