My Interview With Rick Bologna

Imagine living all your life in a city you were born and raised in, established your business in, were raising your children in, and had a wonderfully fulfilling life focused on family, friends and community. Then one day you were told to get out, because a Category 5 hurricane was headed to New Orleans. Her name was Katrina.
Click on the link to watch my interview with Rick Bologna as he walks us through the personal hell that Katrina brought on his family. And learn how God used this catastrophe to bring Rick to his true purpose in life…

Fear

Not all fear is bad. We are hardwired to feel fearful in dangerous situations. But the fear of failure, fear of success (yes, it exists) and fear of other people’s judgments is unhealthy. It will leave us unfulfilled and frustrated. If you are fearful, do the work on yourself to release the fear and live fully. Self-work isn’t easy, but it’s worth it…

Spectator Sports

I love watching great athletes. My dream when I was a teenager was to play safety in the NFL. My dream wasn’t to become a reality because I didn’t possess the physical gifts to play at that level. So I’m content being a spectator.

Times Really Does Fly!

Today is my 65th birthday. While many people think of that as retirement age, retirement has never crossed my mind. In fact, I’m more ambitious now than I have ever been. Find yours and pursue it with everything you have in you. Age exists only in our head and our heart…

The Thief

There has been a robbery! But not to worry. What was stolen can be regained. The thief is comparison. Comparison robs us of our identity when we start looking at our current standings versus others. People compare over money, looks and jobs. You are who God created you to be. He doesn’t make mistakes, nor does He look at his work and think you could have been improved.

Embrace your uniqueness, accept yourself as you are, always trying to improve. God is the authority over our lives. That’s good enough for me…

Grateful…

This morning I woke up with an overwhelming amount of gratitude. I’m grateful every day, but even more so today. Last night I had a car wreck that could have ended my life and the lives of the young men who hit me. All of us are pretty banged up, but we will heal physically. God protected us, no doubt. He’s not finished with us, and I am forever grateful to Him…
