Inaction

People on the internet can act like real jerks. They will insult others, offering unsolicited opinions about how we should vote. Rudeness has become part of life, I guess, but some remarks are incendiary.

In the United States, we live in a totally free society. Freedom of speech is one of our greatest treasures. Therefore, people are free to say whatever they wish. Yet I don’t believe insulting others is productive. You can disagree without acting like an ass. With every generation that passes away, some decency dies with it.

When dealing with passive aggressive behavior, no response is the best response…

When Difficulties Arise

This life has difficulties. I prefer to call them challenges. If you are in a period of life where you are free of major or minor problems, get ready because something is coming.

We have a choice when presented with a challenge. We can shrink from it or we can rise up and meet the challenge. I encourage you to think of challenges as opportunities. That’s right! It’s an opportunity to grow you and strengthen you. Facing difficulties isn’t fun, but you will come out of it a better version of yourself. It’s all about your attitude, how you look at life.

Flip the script on difficult times. In fact, welcome them…

Opposition, or Opportunity?

All of us face challenges in life. We have an invisible enemy that wants to subvert us, and even destroy us. Don’t give in.

When we have an opposing force trying to stop us, the reason is because we are doing what we are supposed to be doing. Every time we say “YES” to God, we are giving ourselves an opportunity to be more like Jesus. This will bring you closer to God, and our enemy doesn’t like that. Therefore, the attack. He wants you to quit.

Just because we can’t see our adversary doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist. Remember who is behind the next problem you incur. And remember why he’s moving against you. Keep going…

Intentional

To be intentional means to be purposeful. You do what you do on purpose.

All of us are intentional in some ways. I’m intentional about going to work today, getting some exercise and doing some writing. God willing, those things will happen. If my plans go awry, I won’t panic. I will adapt.

The most intentional person who ever lived was Jesus Christ. He knew who he was, and he knew why he was here. Jesus had things to distract him. He had people trying to kill him. He never wavered. Jesus just kept going until his purpose was fulfilled.

Be intentional with your time. Otherwise you’ll simply drift through life, accepting whatever comes your way. Get laser-focused and stay that way…

Ripped Off

There has been a robbery! Not to worry, though, because the robber didn’t get your money or possessions. The robber is life, and life has stolen your identity.

When we started out in life, we were going to show the world a thing or two. Nothing could stop us. We couldn’t even be slowed down! Then life hit us. Hard. Setbacks, frustrations and hurts threw us to the ground. We get up, only to get knocked down again. And again. And again.

Start 2024 with a renewed sense of who you are. Life will continue to kick your ass. It’s time you kicked back. It’s impossible to stop a person who refuses to give up…

What Happened?

Children are completely innocent when they are born. Yet some grow up to become murderers and terrorists. Why?

Somewhere along the way they learned evil. Some people have been so disgusting that they teach evil deeds under the veil of religion. One of the most evil things you can do is to mislead a child.

We must continue to show light to the world. Lead by example. Stand up for what’s good and right. There will always be evil in the world, but our light cannot be diminished…

Giving Up

Giving up is never an option. Resilience is built during the hard times, not when things are going well. When we find our inner strength we grow.

There are some people who have given up on fulfilling their purpose, their dreams for their life. Life isn’t easy, and the world will do everything it can to tear you down.

If you are one of the ones who gave up on a fulfilling life, I encourage you to pick yourself up and start living. You can do it.

When life gets tough, be tougher…

Hallmark Families

Christmas is almost here and you know what that means. People are stressed. We want everything to come together perfectly and this includes the meal, presents and family time. Any imperfection runs the risk of ruining our “Hallmark moment.”

Set your expectations correctly. We are human beings living in a broken world. Things go wrong on this side of eternity. Don’t stress over little things. Enjoy every moment.

Slow down a little. This is the time of year to do some relaxing. And remember to be kind. Not everyone has a Hallmark family…

New Year. New Who?

The New Year is right around the corner. Soon it will be 2024. Many people set New Year’s Resolutions and go into the new year determined to change. But what really changes?

Starting anew and replacing a bad habit with a good one is always a good idea. Maybe you begin exercising after laying off for a while. Perhaps you start eating better. Whatever it is, commit to it and don’t quit. Do not let anyone, including yourself, talk you out of the new version of you!

Focus on improving one day at a time. Progress happens if you simply trust the process and keep going…

Annoyances

We all have things (people) who get on our nerves. They just annoy us whether we understand why or not.

My brother had this irritating habit of chewing his food with his mouth open. Even worse, he made a loud smacking noise when eating. The more he knew that it bugged me, the more he did it. Ugh!

Yet I learned something. I learned to eat quietly so I didn’t bother someone with my eating. I was acutely aware of my behavior, and I still am.

Annoyances are there to teach us, not necessarily just to bother us…
