Scarcity or Generosity

What are your thoughts on the title of today’s entry? Whatever your answer is will reveal an insight to your mindset.

If you have a scarcity mindset, you will be inclined to hold onto your possessions tightly. The fear of not having enough or even being enough will cloud your thoughts.

A mindset of generosity knows that sharing what you have will always leave you feeling fulfilled. You give without worry.

Remember this universal law: when we give, we get…

The Unknown

People fear the unknown. But what do we really know?

Every moment of each new day is unique, different. We like to believe we can script our lives, but there is only one screenwriter. His name is God. He is in control of everything from our heartbeats to our safety. That’s pretty humbling, huh?

Our attitude is in our control. So when life brings you unexpected trials or joy, embrace them with an attitude of optimism and peace. No matter the situation, remember who holds our tomorrows in His hands. He is good…

Ego

Our ego is tied to our self-image. Egomaniacs have an inflated sense of self, while people with low self-esteem sell themselves short.

Our ego is attached to our desire to control our environment. We like to believe we are in control of our day and our lives. We aren’t. Separate yourself from your desire to control, letting your ego go in the process. It’s very hard to do because this habit has been built over long periods of time. When you do release your desire to control, you are truly free.

Remember, the only thing we have control over is our attitude…

Blessing God

If the title of this blog didn’t get your attention, check for a pulse.

How do we bless God, the King of the universe? He is the only One who gives and gives. Through His generosity, we woke up this morning. Our hearts and minds work. We can breathe.

We bless our Creator through our faith. By believing in Him, that He is good and only does good in our lives, we are blessing God.

It’s easy to believe when life is going well. Keep believing with unwavering faith when life is a shitshow and you will be blessing God…

How Is It Going?

We are seven weeks into 2023. Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? It’s estimated that 95% of resolutions involve fitness. That’s a good thing.

The bad news is, about 90% of fitness goals are abandoned before the end of January. Old, bad habits return, and self-esteem takes a hit.

Getting fit and staying healthy should be fun! But so many people go about it wrong. They start jogging and eating like a rabbit. Where’s the fun in that? Not to mention you won’t get the results you desire.

Here’s some advice: get a trainer who understands your fitness goals for your body. They will make a plan, and guide you through exercises which will strengthen you and benefit you in the long term. You need to lift weights, and you need to eat. Lifting will make you hungry as hell. Don’t starve yourself! Eat!

If you have given up on your fitness goals for 2023, I encourage you to try again. The only failures are the ones who quit…

Difficulty

All of us experience difficulties in life. This side of eternity is imperfect. Here is my perspective on life’s challenges.

God allows us to go through the troughs of life. He is in control, and it’s important to remember that God doesn’t cause bad things to happen. He allows it. He is using it to prepare us for something more while, hopefully we shift our focus more onto Him.

God is on our side. Always. And that includes the ugly periods of life…

Walk Away

It takes courage to walk away from people who aren’t good for you. Our neural pathways are strong. They have been formed over years of repetition.

Breaking old bad habits is hard. You feel uncomfortable. Here’s my recommendation: just sit with the discomfort. It’s a feeling, nothing more. It will pass. When the discomfort returns, and it will, sit with it. The uncomfortable feeling will leave, sooner than the last time.

Eventually you will conquer the discomfort, if you don’t give up. Just keep going…
