On April 19, 1775 the revolutionary war started. It lasted eight years. On July 4, 1776, the Founding Father delegates of the 13 Colonies declared our independence from the British Monarchy and the battle intensified. King George III was going to do whatever it took to put these belligerents in their place and make them succumb to his rule. He underestimated the strength of a group of people who are participating in something greater than themselves. We won our independence and have grown into the greatest “experiment” the world has ever seen. It is my hope that we continue to prosper and grow, and that we don’t destroy ourselves from the inside.
