As Common As DNA

We are all uncommon beings. God created us as unique and special individuals. Even identical twins have different fingerprints.

In the same vein our DNA strands are complex and beautifully created. The precision God used in making us shows how much He cares.

We sell ourselves short. We settle for a life that is less than what God equipped us for. Be bold. Pursue your calling…

Bias

Where do you go to find true, objective news? Our media outlets have become pulpits for the political leanings of the on-air talent. Op-Ed’s aren’t an improvement over television. There are left and right biases in those.

You can start with the truth in the Bible. God’s word is as true today as it was 1000 years ago. It doesn’t shift one way or another. His words are steadfast.

If something big happens in the world, you are pretty much on your own when deciding how to navigate through the crisis. God gave us a brain to think with. We don’t need the national media.

And if God has a bias, He is biased towards widows and orphans, the disenfranchised, the needy. That’s where our bias should lie, too…

Goodness

I believe most people are good at heart. They mean well and typically treat others with kindness and respect.

When we give, whether we are giving money or giving of ourselves, let’s do it with a cheerful attitude. Doing good without concerning yourself with getting repaid is pure. If we give and feel resentment, we should examine our hearts to determine why we are resentful.

Everything we do and say is a reflection of what is in our hearts. Let’s allow goodness to reign…

Status

People are confused nowadays. They are confused because they believe their worth is tied to their status, money, zip code or position in life. They are gravely mistaken.

Our worth lies in the one who created us. God planned each and every one of us exactly how He wanted us to be. This is the foundation of our worth.

External stuff will die, but our relationship with the Creator is eternal…

Whitewashed

Denial is real. People are fearful of judgement so they whitewash the truth to others and to themselves. But there is no escaping the truth.

Face your life and all of its ugliness, but also it’s beauty. Both coexist and both can be improved upon. Work on what troubles you about your life, and work to improve what’s going well.

I encourage you to “get real” with yourself. Start today…

Go Confidently

Believe in yourself. God created you for a greater purpose. He hasn’t forgotten you or abandoned you.

The world will knock you down. Get back up and get knocked down again. Keep getting up as long as it takes. Find your inner strength to accomplish your destiny. The world cannot defeat you because you have the Creator of the universe on your side.

Don’t go to your grave with your song still in you. The world needs to hear from you…

Outward Bound

If you ever start feeling sorry for yourself, take a moment to reflect on all the good in your life. It’s there but you might overlook it because you are focused inward.

Think about others and what their needs might be. Place emphasis on meeting those needs if you are able. By doing for others your spirits will be lifted in ways I cannot describe. Soon your pity party will turn into a real party. Your moment of sorrow will be eliminated.

Our time here is limited. Leave your mark and create your legacy…

Empathy

Nowadays I see a lot of people who label themselves as “empaths.” They believe they feel what others are feeling, no matter the circumstances.

All of us have intuition. It’s a gift from the Creator. Our intuition protects us from bad people and dangerous situations. We feel alerted in the moment.

Empathy is shared experience. Who better understands what it’s like to be married to an alcoholic than another person who is, too? The only people who know how it feels to lose a child are people who have lost a child.

The pain and struggle you have experienced in life can be used to help others. In this way, pain is a gift, too. Don’t waste it…
