Drains

There are those people who drain you of energy and more. I call them the “ problem-conscious” people because they have a problem for every solution you offer.

I choose to be different. My purpose is to enrich the lives of others, not drag them down. Encourage others, and gently call them out when necessary. You be different, too…

American Culture

The culture of the United States seems to be greed. Do more work so you can be more. And get more.

There’s nothing wrong with acquiring assets. The more you have, the more you are able to help others. If you are willing…

The other side of that coin is contentment. Contentment doesn’t mean you are devoid of ambition. Contentment comes from living in a constant state of gratitude. Be grateful for everything good in your life, and watch your mindset change…

Planted Seeds

When God plants a dream in your heart, it is there for a purpose. The dream, no matter how outrageous it seems, is there for a greater calling. We view the world through limited human vision. We need to see it through God’s eyes. He doesn’t see limitations because God has unlimited power.

See differently. Follow His lead…

Now!

We live in what I call a, “FedEx culture.” I want it immediately. Personally , I’m impatient. I want it yesterday!

That’s not how life works. We must commit to working for what we gain. Sometimes it takes a long time to achieve our goals. The hurry up lifestyle will affect our thinking if we aren’t careful.

Take a big picture, long-term approach to life. Life happens moment-by-moment. Being hurried could make us miss some things…

As The Wind Blows…

Is your mood changed by things that happen to you? I believe all of us are to some extent. When something good comes along, we feel a moment of happiness.

Life will always be unpredictable. It is our responsibility to ensure we don’t allow the unknowns in life to set our mood. If we do, our emotions will feel like a rollercoaster. Up sometimes, down the other.

Our Creator gave us free will over one thing: our attitude. Let’s keep ours focused on our one true north. The unknown events of our lives will keep coming, but our attitude about how we adapt and handle them doesn’t have to change…

Limitations

Other people like to set limitations on your life. The negative talk could come from a “friend,” a family member, or even your spouse! Do not allow their fear of living to stop you from pursuing your dreams.

God alone has authority over your life. He decides what limitations we might have, not other people…

Perspective

We celebrated Valentines Day a few days ago. Restaurants, florists and candy manufacturers got a healthy boost of cash flow, allowing them to survive until Easter and Mother’s Day. I believe if we care for someone, we should show them regularly. But before I start sounding like Ebenezer Scrooge, let’s take a look at where this big day comes from.

Saint Valentine was a 3rd century bishop who cared for Christians who were persecuted during the Roman Empire. He is associated with courtly love, and was martyred on February 14, 269 AD. We honor his memory on Valentines Day every year.

I want to encourage you to take a moment every day to show your loved ones that you care about them. Maybe it’s a quick phone call, a short note left where they can find it, or flowers for no reason at all. People need to know they are in your thoughts, and in your heart…
