Satiety

Satiety means you have had enough. If someone you know is treating you rudely, or abusively, or any other wrong behavior, you will eventually hit your satiety point with them.

Conversely, when someone treats you well, with loving kindness, you want more.

Spend your time with those who enrich your life, not the ones who aren’t good for you…

Shiny Toys

When your covet the next cool new thing, it only leads to dissatisfaction and disappointment.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting nice stuff, nothing at all. Having a nice home, eating at great restaurants and going to wonderful resorts for vacation is part of why we work.

When getting more and more becomes our god, then we have replaced the real God with idols. Keep your focus on things above. He will provide what we need

Greed

The culture of The United States has become greed. Get more, be more and you are worth more, right?

The consequences of a greedy lifestyle are poor emotional and physical health. Relationships are compromised. People sacrifice quality of life for quantity, yet they never find contentment.

Contentment brings peace into your life. It allows you to see the value you have in the world by your mere presence. Contentment doesn’t take the place of ambition. It puts it in perspective…

Thank You

I have observed an increase in rudeness over the past several years. Simple niceties like opening doors and saying ‘thank you’ are becoming rarer and rarer. I’m guessing this is because we are busier than we’ve ever been, but that doesn’t make it acceptable.

To all of my followers who read my work, thank you! I appreciate every one of you. You have a choice in how you spend your time, and I’m honored you spend a few moments with me…

Focus

Are you outwardly focused, or are you focused inward?

I believe most people, if being honest would say inward. We are naturally selfish, so this makes sense. Protecting our lives and the lives of our loved ones isn’t selfish because it’s done out of love.

When we shift our focus onto the needs of others, something special happens. We find more joy and fulfillment than ever before.

I believe we can be focused inwardly and outwardly at the same time. Try it! You might like it…

Stuff

So-called “influencers” on social media get revered for their cool toys, exotic travel and the appearance of a life everyone else wants. But is it real?

Real life doesn’t live on the internet. It exists in the homes of everyday families creating a life of routine. Families doing family stuff doesn’t seem as extravagant as a fast drive down the Autobahn in an Aston Martin.

But this is where life is lived, no matter the size of your home or what zip code it’s in. All the other is just stuff, and stuff doesn’t last. Life lasts…

Online Culture

You can get literally anything you want online. I have had groceries, liquor, books and more delivered to my home after ordering them off the internet. You can even get a date!

There’s a potentially dangerous downside to only ordering things online. The lack of human interaction is vital for us as people. Without human connection, we can become isolated and alone.

Online purchases are great for busy people. Yet I encourage you to shop in person when you can. The personal interaction is good for your health and well being…
