Have You Been Recognized?

Every year companies put on awards ceremonies to recognize their most productive employees. These are wonderful celebrations and a tribute to their hard work and commitment. I’m all for these.

Everyone wants to be seen, heard and understood. This is universal. With over 8 billion people in the world, not everyone will get the opportunity to know each of us individually. Even if you achieve global fame, not everyone will know you.

In light of this, it’s makes it more remarkable, even awe-inspiring, to consider that God knows us. He knows us down to the micro-level of our DNA. He knows what is important to us, and God knows what drives us.

Take a moment every day to get to know God better. We won’t be able to fully understand Him, but we learn God’s character and nature by studying Scripture. Read the Gospels. The more you learn, the more you will want to know God better.

He recognizes and remembers us. We are always on God’s mind. Meditate on this…

When In Rome…

Today we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone becomes Irish on March 17th. On May 5th most Americans will be Mexican so they can properly celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Well, the United States has been called a melting pot so it sorta makes sense.

Outside of the days I just cited, what is your crowd? Are you the same person at work that you are at home? Sometimes people become chameleons so they will fit in. Being liked and accepted is universal. There’s nothing wrong with it, but you must be yourself to feel genuine.

You were created by a perfect God who made you exactly how He wanted you to be. He knew we would have faults, but God gives us a way through. He cares about us so we are given challenges that grow and develop our character. See your life through God’s eyes, not your own.

If you are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day today, have fun. Remember to wear green. Enjoy the moments and remember to be yourself. Always…

Impressive

Insecure people try to impress us with their possessions, their position in life and their importance. These things are nice, but they are meaningless in the grand scheme.

Did you want to impress me? Show me you are a kind hearted person who has unshakable character. Show me you are trustworthy, and that your word stands for something. This is what impresses me…
